USA: Castle Harlan Inc. acquired ConAgra Malt Division

Analyst reported September 01 that Castle Harlan Inc., New York, have acquired the ConAgra Malt Division, consisting of Canada Malting Co (Calgary, Canada), Great Western Malting Co (Vancouver, Washington USA), Barrett Burston Malting (Melbourne, Australia) and Bairds Malt Ltd. (Witham, UK, of which Scottish & Newcastle Breweries owns 40 %) with a total capacity of 1.1 million t.

Castle Harlan are competent investors. It is expected that they will leave the organization of the group unchanged.
