Brewing news Russia: Heineken to brew new beer at Saint Petersburg and Novosibirsk plants

Heineken group in Russia announced that it started the production of a new beer brand named “Ohota Viderjanoe” at its Heineken Brewery plant in Saint Petersburg and Siberia Heineken Brewery plant in Novosibirsk. The new brand is 6.5% alcohol-by-volume, The Russian Brewers Union released August 07.

The drink will be released to retailers starting with August 2006. The beer will be packed in 0.5 liters bottles and aluminium cans, but as well in 1.5 PET. The average price will be RUR16, RUR17 and RUR 39 respectively.

Yurii Shvalibe, Marketing Vice-President of Heineken group of Russia commented: “Ohota Viderjanoe is a drink designed to meet the taste preferences of strong beer segment drinkers. We achieved to create a product which successfully combined the optimal alcohol content with a particular consistent taste.
