Australia: Years of subdued beer volumes may be coming to an end for Lion Nathan
Lion Nathan (LLN) 3Q results indicate several years of subdued beer volumes may be abating, says CommSec retail analyst Grant Saligari, Dow Jones Newswires released July 28.
"It actually reinforces the view we've had for a while that there appears to be a switch underway from wine into beer," he says. "You've now got Foster's and Lion Nathan reporting growing beer volumes." LNN's Kentucky Bourbon notes that ready-to-drink spirit launch looks sound. "It's exactly where you'd want to be in the RTD market," he says. LNN shares stood at AU$8.03, up 5 cents.
