Brewing news Russia: FAS gives explanations over beer advertising regulations

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia provided the Brewers Union of Russia with official explanations over regulation of beer advertising. As the deputy chief of FAS Andrey Kashevarov mentioned in an explanatory letter, any data specifying the goods or its manufacturer, placed directly on official forms, souvenir production and also on the Internet pointing out the domain name can not be referred to beer advertising, the Brewers Union of Russia released July 26.

Beer information located on firm clothes, utensils (glasses, cloths, ashtrays, napkins, cranes, racks of bars, refrigerators), used also at service in places of sale, manufacture and exhibitions of malt drinks refers to the same category.

Cooks also has confirmed the position of the Advisory Council according to which participation of the population in advertising actions of beer "can not be considered as use of images of people, irrespective of whether trade marks of the organizer of the action are specified on their clothes.” Hence, distribution of all above-stated data in public places does not contradict the advertising regulations.
