Ukraine: Sarmat increased beer production by 12% in 1H 2006
Brewing group “Sarmat” said beer production in June 2006 increased by 17% (51,100 hl) year-on-year reaching 356,900 hl. The group’s sales in June also boosted by 6% (20,900 hl) year-on-year up to 370,400 hl, ProAgro News informed July 19.
The group’s breweries increased beer production by 12% (160,500 hl) year-on-year up to 1.49 million hl for 1H of 2006. As for 1H 2006 beer sales, Sarmat reported a 7% (93,500 hl) increase year-on-year reaching 1.415 million hl.
Sarmat is one of the four beer leaders of Ukraine. It presently comprises 5 breweries: JSC Lugansk Brewery, JSC Krim non-alcohol brewery, JSC Dnepropetrovsk brewery “Dnepr”, Poltavbeer and the Donetsk brewery.
The group’s domestic market share was 13.2% in 2005.
