UK: SUN Interbrew to resurrect Artois Bock
SUN Interbrew is to add Artois Bock to their speciality beer portfolio, which includes Hoegaarden and Leffe. It is not a new brew but rather a revival of a beer which is 113 years old, CGA informed June 08.
Artois Bock has not been brewed for 50 years. It was made in the Belgian town of Leuven until the late 1950s. With an alcohol-by-volume of 6.2% it will only be available to bar-goers in half pints; other wise it will be packaged in 275ml bottles.
Artois Bock will be launched in August with a £2 million marketing campaign, including press advertising, an internet campaign and promotional activity.
