World: Recent beer sales statistics

France: January-March 2006 3.426 million hl, down by 4.2 % year-on-year;

Germany: January-April 26.439 million hl, down by 2.5 %. In Germany 3.3 million hl of alcohol-free beer and “Malzbier” were produced in 2005. These beers are not part of the statistics, but require 50,000 tonnes of malt per year;

Russia: January-March 2006 beer sales increased by 4.5 %;

South Korea: January-April 2006 beer sales down by 7.27 %.
