UK: Greene King launches new ale
East Anglia brewer Greene King is this month launching an export strength India Pale Ale (IPA) into the UK take-home market, Checkout Magazine announced on May 04.
The 5% alcohol-by-volume ale is said to be a more "robust beer" than Greene King's original 3.6% alcohol-by-volume IPA and its "refreshing, bitter finish" will make it a good accompaniment to spicy foods and strong curries.
"Export Strength IPA is a premium quality beer for savouring," said Justin Adams, managing director at Greene King Brewing Company. "It contains a high concentration of hops, which gives it a fresh, aromatic character, so you can drink it on its own or with a meal." The beer is packaged in 500ml bottles.
