Vietnam: Hatay Brewery qualified for world's quality management standards
Asia Pacific Breweries Limiteds subsidiary, Hatay Brewery Limited Co. based in the northern province of Ha Tay, was qualified for the world's quality management standards, and received the ISO 9001:2000 and the HACCP certifications which were assessed and accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), Vietnam News Agency (VNA) communicated on March 22.
With a designed capacity of 30 million litres of beer a year, the Hatay Brewery is considered by the beer producer Heineken as its most modern facility in Southeast Asia, and ranks third among 115 factories in 65 countries in terms of production stability and quality.
It is the first beer factory applying automatic robots in packaging and meeting all strictest standards on quality management and food safety. The factory also invested over 1 million USD for a wastewater treatment system and spends about 200,000 USD annually for maintaining a quality management system.
The 65 million USD Hatay Brewery Limited Co. 100% owned by the Singapore-based Asia Pacific Brewries Ltd., produces many different kinds of beer such as Heineken, Tiger, Anchor, and Bivina.
