Romania: One million hl more beer produced in 2005

Breweries of Romania produced about 15.52 million hl of beer in 2005, an increase of 7% compared to the previous year, according to the figures revealed by the National Institute of Statistics.

The biggest volume of beer was brewed in August last year – about 1.95 million hl. The smallest quantity was brewed in February 2005 – about 670,042 hl. In December about 1.09 million hl of beer were produced, with 65,522 hl more than in December 2004.

By the end of December 2005 about 419,000 hl of beer were registered in the stocks of Romanian beer producers, RomPress posted on February 18.
