New Zealand: John Richardson appointed as General Manager Brewing Operations DB Breweries
DB Breweries announced on February 16 the appointment of John Richardson as General Manager Brewing is an excellent example of the knowledge transfer that occurs between DB, APB and the Heineken organisation.
Ronald Lucassen, Johns predecessor returned to a position in the Netherlands, taking with him intimate knowledge of the continuous fermentation process, while John returns to DB after almost 10 years offshore.
His technical skills gained from numerous international postings give John a unique perspective and capability that more than qualifies him for his role within DB Breweries.
John is responsible for the operation of DBs four breweries. He also leads DBs research and development arm, with the support of Heineken International. Continuing to develop our award-winning beers and maintaining our innovative approach to brewing and packaging process development is a key focus for John.
DB Breweries operates four breweries and 14 sales and administration offices around New Zealand. DB Breweries is wholly owned by Singapore-based Asia Pacific Breweries Limited, which is in turn a jointly-owned company of Heineken International and Fraser and Neave Limited. "At our core is beer. In our sights are future consumers demanding new products that fit lifestyle needs. To meet those needs we must continually search for new ideas, whilst maintaining consistent brand values and world class standards. Innovation enables us to stay relevant, to increase value and to drive forward with confidence," says Brian Blake, DB Breweries CEO.
