Russia: Russian barley export is on rise
In November 2005 Russia exported 226.7 thousand tonnes of barley, an increase by 33% compared to October 2005. This volume is twice bigger than barley exports volumes in November 2004. The biggest customers of Russian barley in November were: Saudi Arabia (114 thousand tonnes), Syria (37 thousand tonnes), Israel (34.1 thousand tonnes) and Iran (21.1 thousand tonnes).
The average export price in November was about 120 USD/t. In July-November 2005/2006 market year Russia exported 1 mln tonnes of barley versus 389.7 thousand tonnes for the same period in 2004/2005 MY.
At the same time Russia imported about 7.5 thousand tonnes of barley in November 2005.
