Czech Republic: Pivovar Zubr raises output to 287,000 hectolitres in 2005
Pivovar Zubr brewery reported it produced 287,000 hectolitres of beer in 2005, up 5,000 hectolitres compared to 2004, The Prague Daily Monitor commented on January 18. The increase was attributed mainly to successful exports.
Zubr director Pavel Svoboda told CTK that exports to Slovakia grew by a third year-on-year to 26,000 hectolitres last year.
Zubr sold 256,000 hectolitres of beer on the domestic market, up 3 % against 2004, said Zubr director Pavel Svoboda.
Zubr, based in Prerov, together with breweries in Litovel and Hanusovice, all in northern Moravia, form the fourth largest domestic brewing group Zubr, Holba, Litovel. The group Zubr, Holba, Litovel last year produced almost a million hectolitres of beer, the same as in 2004.
