Brewing news Nigeria: International Beer and Beverage Industries will create jobs and add value to the economy

International Beer and Beverage Industries (IBBI) said that its N1.5 billion investment was meant to create jobs and add value to the economy, All Africa posted on January 3.

Marking Manager of IBBI, Mr. Olukayode Shittu who said this during the public presentation of its new premium lager beer "Tigre Bock" in Abuja explained that new investment drive billed to commence next year will make the beer present all over the country.

Mr. Shittu pointed out that the new beer "Tigre Bock" is a 100 per cent Sorghum beer of 70 per cent malted Sorghum and 30 per cent plain Sorghum which makes it a unique and fine Nigerian premium lager.

He said the beer is poised to claim at least 30 per cent of the nation's premium lager market within the next five years and keep the position with well thought out strategies.

Speaking on the benefits of the brand to the nation, Shittu said already lots of jobs have been created by the over N1.5 billion invested into the brewery through production of new bottles, crates, a new packaging line, new automation equipments among others.

"IBBI has and will recruit more people in relation to the Tigre Bock, we have so far increased our sales force and our operating staff in the brewery for the new packaging line and will continue to do so as the brand is rolled out in the Nigerian market".
