EU & Japan: Last week tenders
The EU Grains Management Committee approved 5 thousand metric tonnes of free market barley for export last week with a subsidy or refund of 2.97 euros/tonne.
It has been reported that Japans Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), which controls the SBS system, will include all feed barley imports in 2006 within the SBS system. The next tender will not take place until the 2006 SBS allocation is announced, typically in mid-March.
