Brewing news Denmark: New head of Carlsberg in five Western European countries

As of 1 March 2006 Alex Myers (42) will assume responsibility as Senior Vice President for Carlsberg in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Portugal – together accounting for about 50% or about DKK 14bn of Carlsberg's turnover in Western Europe, Carlsberg announced on December 1.

Alex Myers will replace Lars Fellman who will retire in February 2006. The position reports to Carlsberg's President and CEO, Nils S. Andersen.

Alex Myers joined Carlsberg in November 2000 and is currently Senior Vice President for Group Sales & Marketing. Previously he has held several commercial positions within Pripps Ringnes and Unilever.

Alex Myers has had a key role in growing Carlsberg's international brand portfolio and rolling out of Carlsberg's Commercial Excellence-program.

His new position as head in five Western European countries is a consequence of Carlsberg's increased efforts to focus on customers and consumers in these mature and challenging markets.

Alex Myers lives in Malmö, Sweden. He is married and has two teenage-sons.
