Russia: Efes Breweries International to loose market share in Russia in the 3rd quarter

The Efes Breweries International’s share on the Russian beer market in the third quarter of 2005 fell to 7.5 % from 8 % in the first half-year, according to AKM report of November 23.

The sales of Efes from January to September period increased to 70 million deciliters from 58 million deciliters a year earlier. Company's revenue raised 23 % up to US$376 million from US$306 million, EBITDA lowered to US$76 million from US$79 million, net income dropped to US$15 million from US$29 million in January-September last year.

The revenue of EBI in Russia for an accounting period grew 22 % primarily due to "Bely medved" significant sales.
