Australia: Australia could export 3 Million tonnes of all its barley
Australia recorded further beneficial rainfalls during the month. Frost in Western Australia did very limited damage. Crop estimates range from 7.0 Million tonnes by Grain Australia to 9,05 Million tonnes by AWF. The latter figure is considered too high by most analysts .
If it is to follow the USDA/IGC crop estimates of 7,5 Million tonnes and the ABARE estimates of a local demand (incl. malt exports) of 3,3 Million tonnes, then Australia can export 4,3 Million tonnes of all barley. Carry-over old crop stocks are at a bare minimum.
The Australian barley boards are not sellers of new crop malting barley yet.
