Brewing news Nigeria: Managing Director of Consolidated Breweries confident about country’s beer industry future

Nigerian Consolidated Breweries Plc Speaking held a prize presentation during which the Managing Director of Consolidated Breweries Plc, Mr. Jean Poizat has said that Nigeria's Brewery Industry has the potentials of engineering around in the economic fortunes of the country. He remarked that the friendly economic policies offered by the federal goverrnment has made it possible for any brewery industry with better management to succeed, adding that the positive response of the consumers to the industry was an added advantage.

He stated "I see a bright future for brewery industries in this country. I see the industry in the future turning around the economic fortunes of the country. There are friendly econmic policies, the peoples' patronage is wonderful. They are not hostile and are willing to follow the trend with little difficulty. I believe these are factors that drive a good industry and encourages development and inspite of the unreliable nature of power supply that sometimes affect production, we can have a good market if we continue this way."

Relying on his experiences of over twenty years in which he served as the Chief Executive of the brewery, he said that the Consolidated breweries had been able to carve a niche in Nigerian market by continously improving in quality and quantity, adding that its brand of "33 and "Himalt" had become a house hold name in Nigeria. He added that efforts were in top gear to make the brands of the company number one in the country.

He affirmed the company introduced the Holland presentation as a way of appreciating the efforts of its distributors, adding that the company would in the next two weeks introduce another for consumers of its products.

Nico Pinotsis, the incoming Managing Director of the brewery, promised to improve on the giant stride of his predecessor, adding that the management would now explore fully its relationship with the Heineken International for improved standard and packaging of her brands. At the occasion graced by customers from the east and north, the company gave out two 'carry go" motorcycles, giant fridges, desktop computers, generators and Video players.
