Russia: Russian beer market is to grow by 4-5% in 2005
Russian beer market is expected to grow at the rate of 4-5 % in 2005, according to the forecasts of Russian Brewers Association. In 2004 the market growth was at the rate of 11.1%. The deceleration of beer production is attributed to the consequences of legislative restrictions as regards beer advertisement as well as market processes typical for the world brewing.
Under the figures posted by the Russian statistics agency (Rosstat), the increase of beer production for January-August in Russia was of 4.6 %. The moving forces and trends of beer output for the eight months of 2004 amounted to 12.9 % versus 2003.
