United Kingdom: In 2004-2005 malt exports decreased by 16.5% year-on-year
In July 2004-June 2005 United Kingdom exported 328,050 tonnes of malt versus 397,523 tonnes previous year. For this period UK exported 19,417 tonnes of malt to EU countries and 308,633 tonnes to non-EU countries.
The largest shipments were made to Japan 82,506 tonnes; to Nigeria 37,078 tonnes; to Russia 28,654 tonnes; to Thailand 57,054 tonnes; to Ireland 7,857 tonnes; to Italy 2,294 tonnes; to Netherlands 5,473 tonnes; to Jamaica 6,655 tonnes; to Malaysia 10,511 tonnes; to Philippines 6,624 tonnes; to Singapore 3,175 tonnes; to South Korea 5,431 tonnes; to Tanzania 7,262 tonnes; to Trinidad & Tobago 8,365 tonnes; to USA 6,841 tonnes; to Venezuela 9,050 tonnes and to Vietnam 11,613 tonnes, to Bahamas 1,160 tonnes; to Barbados 2,550 tonnes; to Brazil 2,676 tonnes; to Cameroon 4,408 tonnes; to Canada 2,203 tonnes; to China 1,772 tonnes; to Israel 4,964 tonnes.
In June 2005 United Kingdom exported 24,520 tonnes of malt of which 3,231 tonnes to EU countries and 21,289 tonnes to non-EU countries, according to HGCA figures posted in August. In June 2005 UK exported 7,535 tonnes of malt to Japan: 4,543 tonnes to Thailand; 1,507 tonnes to South Korea; 1,310 tonnes to Netherlands; 1,176 tonnes to Malaysia; 1,067 tonnes to Ireland; 988 tonnes to Vietnam. In June 2004 UK exported 30,804 tonnes of malt.
