China: SABMiller to sell beer at higher prices in China
SABMiller would sell in China higher-priced beers, including imported brands for increasing profitability in the world's fastest-growing beer market, according to Business Report of September 13.
SABMiller would raise, the price of Snow beer produced by its Chinese joint venture and import its Miller Genuine Draft beer for sale by next summer, Andre Parker, the managing director for Africa and Asia said.
"About 76 % of China's beer market is priced at below $0.24 a litre and it's very difficult to make a profit at that price," he stated. International brands in the premium market are priced at about $1 a bottle.
