USA: National Beer Wholesalers Association about beer industry importance in Utah
The National Beer Wholesalers Association in a report on August stated that beer industry in Utah at present supports 10,670 jobs, generating A$255 million in annual wages and A$134 million in excise and consumption taxes for state and local governments.
Jeff Becker, Beer Institute President said that a wide variety of jobs are involved in making and supplying beer. Farmers grow crops used for brewing. Truckers deliver those grains to breweries and finished beer products to restaurants, bars and stores. Despite the heavy tax burden, the industry has managed to grow steadily.
Nationally, the Beer Wholesalers Association evaluate nearly 1.8 million Americans are employed directly and indirectly by the beer industry, earning in wages and benefits 54 billion dollars.
