Australia: Approved licence applications for barley exports
Grain producers from Western Australian are expected to the winners if special licence holders can grab more market share for the State in key markets, Ezigrain Australia reported on August 16. The Grain Licensing Chairman,Mr Colin Mann last week announced three more licence applications have been approved by the Grains Licensing Authority and a proposal for extension of a special licence from last season has been declined.
The approvals regard 110,000 tonnes of feed barley to the Middle East and 60, 000 tonnes of malting barley towards China.The target of this is get Western Australian grain into segments of the market currently serviced by rival producers and increase the general benefits to Western Australian growers.
