Brazil: AmBev announced volumes for the second quarter 2005
Companhia de Bebidas das Americas (AmBev) announced on July 14 the sales volumes for the second quarter 2005. In Q2 2005 AmBev sold 20.75 million hl of beer, an 11% increase year-on-year.
In Q2 2005 AmBev sold 13.89 million hl of beer in Brazil a 14.3% increase year-on-year. The growth in the Brazil Beer operations reflects AmBev's consistent market share recovery since December 2003, and a 9.6% growth in the Brazilian beer market in the 2Q05, according to ACNielsen. AmBev's beer market share in Brazil during the 2Q05 was 68.2% and as of June 2005 it was 67.9%.
In the second quarter of the year AmBev sold 3.77 million hl of beer in Hispanic Latin America (+13.5% year-on-year); 3.1 million hl of beer in North America (-4.4% year-on-year).
