Morocco: The Moroccan government eliminates VAT on Barley

The Moroccan government will not collect its 7% Value Added Tax (VAT) on non-malting barley imports through December 2005. The 20% VAT on malting barley will remain in place.

"This drought relief measure aims to support farmers by making cheaper barley available," explains the U.S. agricultural attaché for the country.
