Ukraine: Malt production this year already reached 230,600 metric tonnes

For the 11 months of the market year 2004-2005 (July 2004-May 2005) Ukraine produced about 230,600 metric tonnes of malt, a 16.5% increase compared to the same period last year (197,900 metric tonnes), Ukraine statistics authority has recently communicated.

In May 2005 Ukraine produced about 27,600 metric tonnes of malt that is an increase by 25% compared to May 2004 and a decrease by 1% compared to April 2005.

In May the leading Ukrainian malt manufactures remain: Slavutsky Malting plant, which produced about 6,900 metric tonnes of malt in May 2005: Kharkov based company Malteurop with a malt output of 6,400 tonnes in May 2005; Chernigov based Malteurop Ukraine with 3,700 tonnes and Obolon Brewery with 4,200 tonnes.
