Australia: ABB Grain Ltd appointed a new general manager – marketing services

ABB Grain Ltd announced on June 3 that it has appointed grain industry professional Peter Jones to the position of general manager – marketing services.

Managing director, Michael Iwaniw, said Mr Jones would head up a wide range of trading operations including domestic barley trading, cash barley acquisitions, wheat pools, wheat products and grain accumulation as well as chartering operations.

“Peter has had extensive experience in these areas and we are extremely fortunate to appoint a person whose skills so closely match our needs,” Mr Iwaniw said. “He has worked in Australia, is familiar with the domestic trading scene and has extensive experience in the chartering area, where he has most recently worked.”

Mr Jones said he was delighted to be joining ABB, which, following its merger with AusBulk and United Grower Holdings prior to last harvest was in an accelerated growth phase. “I’m very excited to be joining the ABB Group of companies, the combination of a strong acquisition and trading arm together with the malting, packing and processing businesses and chartering arm have created a company with outstanding potential,” Mr Jones said. “I am looking forward to making a contribution to achieving the company’s goals.”
