Croatia: Pivovarna Lasko is expected to sell Jadranska pivovara
Croatia, Split: Slovenian Company, Pivovarna Lasko, might have decided to sell its small Split-based brewery Jadranska pivovara due to poor four-month results, daily Vecernji list has recently posted. According to the same source, in January-April domestic sales of Jadranska pivovara fell by 25% year-on-year compared to the 9% decline of the beer market.
According to analysts Pivovarna Lasko is expected to sell Jadranska pivovara by the end of the year and among the most likely buyers are speculated to be three of the biggest international breweries InBev, Heineken and Carleberg. All of them own Croatian subsidiaries.
Pivovarna Laskos PR agency rejected the rumours saying there were no plans to sell Jadranska pivovara. Still, Slovenian media have been speculating about it for some time. Asked to comment, Carlberg Croatia said it did not plan to make acquisitions in the country but added it might consider such opportunity if presented with it.
