Japan: Kirin Brewery posted Q1 2005 net profit of 987 million yen versus 3.6 billion yen
Kirin Brewery Co Ltd, the second largest brewery of Japan, announced on May 11 unaudited consolidated results for the first quarter 2005 ended March 31, 2005. Kirin Brewery posted consolidated sales (revenue) of 311.4 billion yen, 4.6% lower versus 326.5 billion yen in Q1 2004. Consolidated operating income for the quarter was of 4.4 billion yen, 69.7% lower compared to 14.6 billion yen in Q1 2004. The company has registered a net profit of 987 million yen in Q1 2005 versus 3.6 billion yen in Q1 2004.
Kirin Brewery posted 189,7 billion yen of alcohol beverages sales in Q1 2005 compared to 207,8 billion yen in Q1 2004. Alcohol beverages sold by Kirin Brewery are beer, sparkling malt liquor (happo-shu), whiskey, spirits, wine etc.
