Argentina: CCU is to invest USD 12 million in its plant in Santa Fe

Compañías Cervecerías Unidad (CCU) is to invest USD 12 million in its plant in Santa Fe province of Argentina with the purpose to optimise the production process of Budweiser, Heineken, Santa Fe and Schneider brands. The investment wil create 100 new work places. The modernization started in February this year and is to be completed by the end of the year.

CCU controls 16% of beer market in Argentina. The most popular of its brands are Schneider with 7% of total Argentina market and Budweiser with 4 %. In the province of Santa Fe, the most popular brand is Santa Fe brand, which accounts for 40% of the local beer market.

Argentina beer consumption is about 1.232 million litres per annum and 33 litres per capita.
