EU: Licence bookings for EU-25 malt exports were 1.686 million tonnes during July 1, 2004-March 29, 2005. Last year EU-15 bookings at the same time were 1.830 million tonnes. If the same pace of licence fixations continued, the total on June 30, 2005, would arrive at 2.250 million tonnes. 2.5 million tonnes of malt were exported from present EU-25 countries to today’s third countries last year. A 10 % reduction of malt exports in 2004-05 is in the making.
