Ukraine: Brewer Obolon suffers staggering drop in 2024 net profit
Obolon PJSC, one of Ukraines largest beer and beverage producers, reported a net profit of 1.248 million hryvnias for 2024 a staggering 1,470 times less than the previous year and plans to reinvest it in company development, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
Shareholders are expected to approve the move during a remote general meeting scheduled for April 25.
In 2024, Obolon posted 12.87 million hryvnias in revenue, compared to 10.76 billion a year earlier.
The companys debt obligations rose by 14.9% to 1.64 billion hryvnias, while its assets increased by 31.9% to 9.238 billion.
Staff numbers grew by 108 employees, bringing the total headcount to 2,164.
Obolons charter capital stands at 32.51 million hryvnias.
The Obolon corporation produces beer, nonalcoholic and low-alcohol drinks, mineral water, and snacks. It is also the countrys top beer exporter. The company includes a main plant in Kyiv and nine regional facilities across Ukraine.
Its core brands include Obolon, Carling, Zlata Praha, Hike premium, Zibert, Keten, Hardmix, BeerMix, Desant, Zhygulivske, Zhyvchyk, Obolonska, and Prozora. The corporation also produces flavored low-alcohol drinks such as Rio, Gin & Tonic, Vodka Lime, Whiskey Cherry, Rum & Cola, Brandy & Cola, and Ciber.
Earlier reports said that the Rosynka soft drink plant in Kyiv is set to resume operations.
