India: United Breweries Ltd., has informed The Stock Exchange, Mumbai (BSE) that the Board of directors of the Company at its meeting held on April 7 2005, has allotted the following --- 3,779,522 Equity shares of Rs. 10 each at Rs. 575 per Equity share; 17,283,000 - 3% Cumulative Redeemable Preference shares- Series 'A' of Rs. 100 each; 7,407,000 - 3% Cumulative Redeemable Preference shares- Series 'B' of Rs. 100 each --- to Scottish & Newcastle India Limited (SNIL) on Preferential Allotment basis in terms of the Resolution passed by the members at the Extraordinary General Meeting held on January 20,2005.

Further, the company has informed that no Warrants have been issued/allotted to SNIL as envisaged earlier in view of the over subscription to the Open Offer made by SNIL to the public shareholders of the Company.
