Brewing news Ireland: Heineken to increase price of its draught products in Ireland

Heineken has announced that it will increase the price of its draught products in Ireland later this month, by adding around 6 cents to the price of a pint, Drinks Industry Ireland reported on February 7.

The planned price hike will be applied to all of the company’s draught products in Ireland, which includes Heineken, Coors, Birra Moretti, Murphy’s, Foster’s and Beamish.

The 2.8% price increase across the product range will be applied from February 24. It will see the price of a pint rise by approximately 6 cent.

According to a Heinken spokesman, “As a business we continue to focus on opportunities to reduce costs. However, even with these efforts, our business continues to experience cost price increases that are required to sustain our support and investment in the on-trade market.

“As a result, there will be a planned price increase of 2.8% across our draught product range, effective from the 24th February 2025.”

It follows a move by Diageo, who notified publicans last month that the price of a pint is to increase yet again. This will be the fourth price rise in two years.

The price of Diageo’s range of draught products including Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks and Hophouse 13 rose by six cent per pint on 3 February.
