Brewing news USA, MA: Boston Beer Co. to expand Samuel Adams brewing operations in West End

The Boston Beer Co. recently purchased more than an acre of land in the West End near its Samuel Adams Brewery on Central Parkway in Boston for close to $4 million, Hamilton County Property records show, Cincinnati Enquirer reported on November 15.

Doing business as American Craft Brewery LLC, the Boston-based brewer founded by Cincinnati native James Koch purchased more than a half dozen parcels on Nov. 6 consisting of industrial buildings and vacant land between Findlay Street and Livingston Street, west of John Street, property records show.

The biggest purchase was an old manufacturing building at 517 Findlay St. that sold for $3.44 million.

The building is just a few blocks away from the brewery at 1625 Central Parkway, which is the main production brewery for Samuel Adams beers, according to the company. The company also owns The Samuel Adams Cincinnati Taproom at 1727 Logan St.

"The purchase of additional land in the West End is part of our overall investment in the Samuel Adams Cincinnati Brewery that is intended to help streamline operations and create efficiencies throughout the brewing, packaging, and shipping processes,'' Brittany Zahoruiko, senior manager of communications at Boston Beer, said in a statement to The Enquirer.

Zahoruiko declined further comment.

In addition to its flagship Samuel Adams brand, Boston Beer's brands also include Truly Hard Seltzer, Twisted Tea and Angry Orchard Hard Cider.
