United Kingdom: Shares in SABMiller, the world's fourth-largest brewer, climbed 20 pence, or 2.4 percent, to 848.5 pence, Bloomberg communicated on April 1. The U.K.'s benchmark FTSE 100 Index rose, led by shares in brewer SABMiller Plc, and mining companies BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto Group. The FTSE 100 added 9.8 or 0.2 percent, to 4,904.20 as of 8:04 a.m. in London. The FTSE All-Share Index rose 0.2 percent to 2463.32.
