North America: Hot weather turns good barley crop development into a more worrisome situation in Canada
A period of high temperatures over the past two weeks and without any additional moisture has quickly turned a very good barley crop development in Canada into a more worrisome situation. Conditions in the US are holding, RMI Analytics reported.
The analysts crop estimate is reduced by 0.3 mln tonnes to 9.5 mln tonnes. A wide range of quality impacts (e.g. range of proteins) could be expected.
Concern about the mounting crop weather impacts has prices steady to higher, with the trade and farmers watching the weather closely
Domestic feed barley prices are higher due to the potential heatwave yield impacts.
