Canada: Barley crop ratings reportedly the best since 2016
Across western Canada and the US barley crop ratings are very good and soil moisture levels are improved from recent rains. In Canada, crop ratings are reportedly the best since 2016, RMI Analytics said in its latest report.
The analysts barley crop24 forecast for Canada remains at 10.1 mln tonnes, as good conditions prevail but note, the crop remains later than normal.
Following world market, prices in Canada are down to maintain competitiveness globally. Farmers are now active sellers on the improved crop conditions, and this is weighing on prices as well.
