Canada: Barley crop estimate remains at 7.87 mln tonnes
Barley harvest finished under less than ideal conditions across North America. In certain regions there are small pockets of pre-germ barley, but this is viewed as manageable, RMI Analytics said in their latest report.
Proteins are variable given the dry conditions over the growing season. RMIs barley crop estimate for Canada remains at 7.87 mln tonnes.
Prices are down slightly but remain well above other barley exporting origins. Canadas ability to compete in global markets is continually challenged by the strong domestic feed barley prices. Feed barley values are strongly linked with imported US corn prices which have not dropped, despite the good progress in the US corn harvest.
