World: French malting barley prices stable, Canada/Argentina slightly up
French malting barley prices are unchanged while Canada/Argentina are up slightly, RMI Analytics said in their latest report.
No major moves (so far) have been reported to the changing dynamics below the Equator, but more volatility is expected as the situation unfolds.
A common theme remains the lack of farmer selling. End-user demand still appears in the market, but traders are less willing to short-sell, under the current environment. This leaves the barley market with a quiet trade, which at some stage will break free, but it will take time, the analysts said.
