World: Hop growers reporting oversupply due to increased global acreage
Hop growers are reporting an oversupply due to an increased global hop acreage for the 8th consecutive year (+0.8% in 2021 vs. 2020), with the US, Germany and the Czech Republic registering the biggest increases, RMI Analytics reported late in August.
The alpha acid volumes are also the highest ever at 130,800 tonnes.
For 2022, Australia is also showing an increased acreage (+17%) and increased production (+7%).
