World: Barley crop forecast higher on encouraging yield results in Russia and France
Encouraging yield results in Russia and France have boosted RMI Analytics crop 2022 estimate which is 146.3 mln tonnes this month, versus 145.2 mln in their previous report at the end of June.
At the same time high prices and a looming threat of a recession have a potential to reduce demand. Total feed demand and export forecasts are reduced, raising slightly the ending stocks figure.
World barley prices are down significantly from the record high levels experienced in the past months. Market leaders France and Canada have fallen the most as French harvest advances and conditions improve in North America.
With wheat and corn prices falling sharply lower, the impact on feed barley is equally severe.
