World: Malt prices lower, Brazil imports increased malt volume in crop 2020/21

EU and global malt prices are lower on barley price weakness, RMI Analytics said in their early February report.

Brazil reportedly imported 1.4 mln tonnes of malt during the crop 2020/21 cycle, a staggering 0.4 mln tonnes higher than the campaign in crop 2019/20. Brazil remains a strong beer market, where consumption grows, including at-home sales during the pandemic.
