China, Beijing: China's largest beer maker Tsingtao Brewery Co Ltd plans to build a 760 mln yuan beer production line in Shenzhen, with an annual capacity of 120,000 tonnes, the Nanfang Daily reported on January 17, citing company officials. Tsingtao hopes to increase its share in the southern part of the country, with rivals, such as Beijing Yanjing Brewery Co Ltd China Resources Brewery, Zhujiang Brewery, also investing heavily in the city.

Last week, Tsingtao rolled out a massive marketing campaign in Beijing, aiming to boost its market share in the capital to 30-40 pct within three years from less than 10 pct. Beijing Yanjing Brewery dominates the market in the capital with a 90% share.
