Japan, Tokyo: Sapporo Breweries Ltd and Suntory Ltd on Tuesday, January 11 unveiled business plans for 2005 targeting substantial increases in sales of low-priced beer-like alcoholic beverages dubbed "the third category of beer" in the industry, according to Kyodo News.

Beverages in the third category of beer cost much less than regular beer and "happoshu" low-malt beer as they are subject to lower liquor taxes resulting from their ingredients. Draft One is brewed from peas.
