Brazil: Number of brewing companies reaches 1,171
The number of brewing companies in Brazil increased by more than 30% in the last two years, Diario do Comercio reported on March 30.
As of the middle of February 2020, there were 1,171 breweries in the country versus 889 in 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply data showed.
The south and south-east of Brazil account for 85% of the nations total beer output, with 241 breweries in the state of Sao Paulo, 228 breweries in Rio Grande do Sul, and 156 breweries in Minas Gerais.
