World: Malt trade forecast to reach 7.775 mln tonnes in 2019/20
The IGC has adjusted its world malt trade estimate from 6.715 to 7.775 mln tonnes (grain equivalent) for the season 2019/20, H. M. Gauger GmbH reported earlier this month.
The new forecast is, however, only 50,000 tonnes higher than the trade of 2018/19.
The largest exporter will be the EU with 3.4 mln tonnes. The not so recent newcomers are: Russia with 100 thousand tonnes (although H. M. Gauger GmbH analysts believe it will be more) and China with 650 thousand tonnes.
