World: Beer exports total $15.8 bln for 2018
International sales from beer exports by country totaled US$15.8 billion for 2018. That dollar amount reflects a 15.7% appreciation for all beer shippers over the five-year period starting in 2014 when global beer sales were $13.6 billion, and an 8.3% uptick from 2017 to 2018, worldstopexports.comr reported.
Among continents, European countries accounted for the highest dollar worth of exported beer during 2018 with shipments valued at $8.8 billion or 55.8% of the worldwide total. In second place were North American beer exporters at 33.9% trailed by Asia at 6.9%.
Smaller percentages came from Latin America (1.8%) excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean, Africa (1.3%) and Oceania (0.4%) led by New Zealand and Australia.
Among the top exporters, the fastest-growing beer exporters since 2014 were: South Korea (up 111%), Mexico (up 86.3%), China (up 42.6%) and United States (up 36.1%).
Five top countries posted declines in their exported beer sales namely: United Kingdom (down -19.7%), Denmark (down -14.5%), France (down -12.9%), Germany (down -4.3%) and Netherlands (down -0.6%).
