World: Barley markets sharply down in the EU and Americas
World markets of wheat and barley dropped sharply in the EU and the Americas, followed more moderately by Black Sea grains, where old crop stocks have become small after a great sales campaign, H. M. Gauger GmbH said earlier this month.
Altogether, world stocks are still too large to support better price levels for a longer period, the analysts said.
U.S. and Chinese policies have affected markets since months. Harvest progress of corn and soybeans in Mercosur is fast with good results. And finally, mild winters and early spring planting in the northern hemisphere make for a bearish outlook on new crop positions.
